Sunway Lagoon parking and driving to Sunway Pyramid

Updated · By the Grandpride team, Petaling Jaya

Draft, not public. 1 question for Grandpride to answer before this is published, highlighted below.

For Sunway Lagoon parking, use Sunway Pyramid's car park: the mall is next door to the theme park and connected to it on foot, and it has room for about 10,000 cars. On an ordinary weekday you'll find a bay without thinking about it. On a school holiday weekend or an event day, the queue to get in is the slow part, so arrive before the park opens or park elsewhere in Sunway City and ride the BRT one stop.

Getting there

Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Lagoon are in Sunway City, Subang Jaya, beside the Federal Highway. The mall's car park entrances are reached from the Federal Highway, and there's a dedicated ramp into the car park from the New Pantai Expressway (NPE). The Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP) and the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) both meet the area too, so from PJ, Puchong or Shah Alam you're only one road away.

Put "Sunway Pyramid car park" in Waze or Google Maps rather than "Sunway Lagoon", so it takes you to a car park entrance and not a drop-off point.

Where to park

Sunway Pyramid's parking is spread over basements B1 to B3, the Red Zone from LG2 to F, and multi-storey blocks CP2 to CP7, with CP7 on the roof. It's ticketless and cashless, so don't plan on paying with notes at the exit.

For the Lagoon, head for the parts of the mall closest to the theme park side. Two walkways connect them: the Canopy Walk links the mall to Sunway Lagoon, and The Link takes you by escalator to the Surf Beach entrance. Photograph your level and zone sign before you walk away. With 10,000 bays, finding the car after a day in the water is hard without it.

Rates change, so check them at the entrance or on the mall's site. For parking further into town, parking in Kuala Lumpur covers the systems you'll meet.

Busy days, and how to avoid the queue

The Lagoon is busiest at weekends, on public holidays and through the school holidays; weekdays are quieter. Event nights at Sunway, such as festivals in the township, fill the car parks too. On those days:

  • Arrive before the Lagoon opens. It has opened at 10 am; check its own site for your date, including whether it's closed that day.
  • Or park at another Sunway car park, such as Sunway Geo Avenue, Sunway Square, or the multi-level car park at the Sunway Pyramid BRT complex, and take the BRT to the Sunway Lagoon station.
  • Leave before the park closes or well after. Everyone leaving at closing time means a slow exit ramp.

The Lagoon has six parks, the water park and the amusement park among them, so plan on a full day and six hours or more of parking.

Not driving at all

Sunway is close to our Petaling Jaya showroom. If you're renting from Grandpride for a family day out, delivery is free within 10 km of the Section 13 showroom and RM 100 elsewhere in the Klang Valley, and whether your Sunway address is inside the free zone is CHECK: is Sunway City within the free 10 km delivery radius of the Section 13 showroom. Car rental in Subang Jaya covers delivery around the area.

For a big group, a chauffeur takes the car park out of the day. A Toyota Vellfire with driver is RM 150 an hour, booked for 3 to 23 hours: drop-off at the entrance, and the car comes back when you call. Seven seats means room for a family and their wet bags; the MPV list has the self-drive seven-seaters too. Book it on the chauffeur booking page at least two days ahead.

Going to another mall afterwards? Mid Valley Megamall parking is further up the Federal Highway towards KL.
