Pavilion KL parking, and driving in

Updated · By the Grandpride team, Petaling Jaya

Draft, not public. 1 question for Grandpride to answer before this is published, highlighted below.

Pavilion KL parking is in the mall's own car park at 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang. On a weekday morning that's all you need to know. On a Saturday evening the hard part is reaching the car park, because Jalan Bukit Bintang and the roads around it fill up. You have three ways to do it: park at Pavilion, park at a neighbour and walk, or get dropped at the door.

Parking at Pavilion

Set your navigation app to the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur car park, not the mall itself, so it routes you to the car park entrance instead of the front door. Pavilion's rates differ between weekdays and weekends and public holidays, and they have gone up in recent years; check the current rates on the signs at the entrance before you take a ticket.

On a weekend, come in the morning if you can. The drive in is easier before the evening crowd arrives, and so is finding a space.

Parking next door

If Pavilion's car park is full or the queue to get in is long, there are others within a short walk:

  • Starhill, right beside Pavilion.
  • Fahrenheit 88, across Jalan Bukit Bintang.
  • Lot 10, a short walk along Jalan Bukit Bintang.
  • Wisma Chuang, a couple of hundred metres away.

Rates vary from building to building and between weekdays and weekends, so compare them on the day. Street parking around Bukit Bintang is limited and has time limits, and it's paid through City Hall's approved apps; our guide to parking in Kuala Lumpur explains how.

Getting dropped off

Being dropped at the door avoids the car park altogether. Tour buses drop off at Pavilion's Chulan and Elite entrances. The catch is the pick-up later: at closing time, or on a busy weekend evening, a car can't sit by the kerb on Jalan Bukit Bintang waiting for you.

That's where a booked driver is easier than e-hailing. A Grandpride chauffeur by the hour, from 3 to 23 hours, drops you off, waits nearby and comes back when you call; nobody circles the block looking for a space. Hours that start between 7 pm and 11 pm cost 30% more, so a long Saturday evening adds up. Our guide to hourly chauffeur pricing in KL shows how it's worked out, and you can see the full price for every free car when you book a chauffeur.

When not to drive at all

Some nights Bukit Bintang closes to cars. For the countdown to 2026 at Pavilion, Jalan Bukit Bintang was closed from the junction with Jalan Raja Chulan to the junction with Jalan Sultan Ismail from 5 pm on 31 December to 2 am on 1 January, with partial closures from 29 December. Expect something similar for big events, and check announcements before you set off. Our guide to Christmas and New Year's Eve transport in KL covers that week.

On those nights, take the train. Pavilion has its own MRT station, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur–Bukit Bintang, and the Monorail's Bukit Bintang station is signposted to the mall. From KLCC, a covered, air-conditioned walkway of about 1.7 km runs to Bukit Bintang by way of Pavilion.

If you're still deciding

Is Pavilion or KLCC easier by car?

Both get busy on weekends, and KLCC also has the convention centre's events to plan around; our guide to visiting KLCC by car covers it. If you're doing both in one day, park at one and walk the covered walkway to the other.

Can I drop a rental car near Pavilion?

Grandpride delivers and collects rental cars at addresses in the Klang Valley: free within 10 km of the PJ showroom and RM 100 elsewhere. A hotel near Pavilion is a simpler handover point than the mall itself CHECK: will Grandpride hand over or collect a rental car at a mall car park such as Pavilion KL. The vehicle list shows what's free on your dates.

Going to Jalan Alor afterwards?

It's a short walk from Pavilion, so leave the car where it is. Our guide to Bukit Bintang and Jalan Alor by car covers the evening.
