Bukit Jalil stadium parking, and better ways home from a concert

Bukit Jalil stadium parking is limited, and on a sold-out concert night it's the wrong plan for most people. The on-site car parks at KL Sports City fill early, the roads around them lock up after the encore, and the drive home starts with a long wait just to get out. The stadium has a new name, too: since 2026 it's the TM National Stadium, and the indoor arena next door, once Axiata Arena, is now Unifi Arena.

What people get wrong about concert nights at Bukit Jalil

"We'll drive and park on site"

You can, if you're very early. The organiser's guide for a stadium concert in late 2026 called on-site parking at KL Sports City "limited", listed alternative car parks 15 to 30 minutes' walk away, and told drivers to avoid Jalan Merah Caga altogether. Which KL Sports City car parks open varies by show, and parking at nearby malls is possible with a walk at the end. Check the organiser's notice before you go.

The bigger problem is leaving. Tens of thousands of people try to get out at once. The stadium seats around 87,000, and exits are staggered to manage the crowd.

"We'll take a Grab home"

Getting a Grab in is easy. Getting one out is hard. The organiser's e-hailing drop-off and pick-up point for that late-2026 concert was Endah Parade, about 15 minutes' walk from the stadium, and queues there were expected to be long. If you do rely on e-hailing, walk well clear of the stadium before you open the app.

"The LRT will have stopped by the time it ends"

Often it hasn't. Bukit Jalil LRT station on the Sri Petaling Line is about four minutes' walk from the venues. For big concerts, train hours have been extended to 1 am, as they were for Mayday in 2026. It's the easiest way out if you're travelling light, but the platforms are packed. Check the operator's announcement for your concert night.

"A chauffeur can pick us up at the gate"

Not usually. On concert nights the police and organisers control the roads around the stadium, and private cars go where they're told like everyone else. What a chauffeur gives you is a car that's already there. You agree a meeting point a short walk from the crowd, walk to it, and get in. No queue and no app.

Booking a chauffeur for a concert

Book by the hour, from the time you leave home to the time you're dropped back. Grandpride's chauffeur bookings run from 3 to 23 hours, and the car waits between drop-off and pickup. Evening hours cost more:

Hour starts betweenRate
7 am and 7 pmNormal
7 pm and 11 pm+30%
11 pm and 7 am+50%

Say you're collected at 6 pm and dropped home at 1 am. The 6 pm hour is at the normal rate, the four hours from 7 pm are at 1.3 times, and the two hours from 11 pm are at 1.5 times. That's 9.2 times the hourly rate for seven hours. In a Toyota Alphard it's 9.2 times RM 200, shared between up to seven of you. Our hourly chauffeur pricing guide has more worked examples, and the chauffeur booking page prices your exact night before you reserve.

Sort these out before the night:

  • Agree the meeting point before you go in. Pick somewhere you can walk to in the dark with a dead phone, and screenshot it.
  • Tell the chauffeur the expected finish time. Encores run late. If you're still in the stadium at the agreed time, a text saves confusion.
  • Book the car when you buy the tickets. Online bookings need at least two days' notice.

If you're hosting a group and some want to drink, the chauffeur also takes everyone home, which is what Grandpride's Drink Don't Drive service is for. For a bigger evening event with arrivals that matter, see our guide to event and gala chauffeurs.

Is Bukit Jalil stadium parking free?

Don't count on it. Charges depend on the car park and the event, and the organiser's travel notice usually lists the car parks in use, so check it there. Our guide to parking in KL covers how mall and city car parks take payment.

Where do you drop off for a Bukit Jalil concert?

It depends on the event. For the late-2026 stadium concert, e-hailing used Endah Parade. Follow the organiser's notice for your show, and give the same point to anyone dropping you off.
