Car rental delivery in the Klang Valley costs nothing with Grandpride if you're within 10 km of our showroom in Section 13, Petaling Jaya. Anywhere else in the Klang Valley it's a flat RM 100. Outside the Klang Valley, delivery is by special request, and we quote for it first.
| Where the car goes | Delivery fee |
|---|---|
| Within 10 km of the PJ showroom | Free |
| Elsewhere in the Klang Valley | RM 100 |
| Outside the Klang Valley | By special request and quote |
Not sure which side of the 10 km line you are? Send us the address before you book CHECK: is the 10 km measured by road or in a straight line from the showroom?. The same goes for the edges of the Klang Valley, because which areas count is CHECK: which areas count as the Klang Valley for delivery, e.g. Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Rawang, Semenyih, Sepang/KLIA. Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and the Selangor towns around them are covered.
How a delivered rental goes, from booking to return
- Pick your dates on the vehicle list first. Anything already booked shows as not available, so you're only looking at cars you can have.
- Choose protection, a mileage package and the Touch 'n Go toll card. The price updates as you go. The rental overview explains each of these.
- At checkout, choose delivery and type the full address, down to the tower, unit or lobby the car should come to. The time you choose at booking is the handover time CHECK: hours during which deliveries can be made. How much notice a delivery needs is CHECK: minimum notice for delivery, and whether the fee appears in the itemised price.
- Add the driver's details, check the itemised price (the rental for your dates, then each option you added) and reserve. Guest checkout is fine. The only thing paid online is a RM 50 booking fee, and it comes off your total.
- A day or so before, confirm the handover time and the exact meeting point with us on WhatsApp. Condos, office towers and hotels often have their own rules for visitors, and one message saves a wait at the guardhouse.
- On the day, walk round the car with our team. Photograph any marks, and note the mileage and the fuel level, because the car goes back at the same fuel level. Then you get the keys, with the toll card if you added it, loaded with the amount you chose (RM 50 to RM 500, and you pay exactly that).
- The rest is paid in store or in person CHECK: on a delivery, is payment taken by the person handing over the car, and which payment methods are accepted?.
- At the end, the car comes back by CHECK: return options at the end of the rental, including return to the showroom, collection from the customer's address, and any charge.
What the renter needs at handover
The handover is quick if these are ready, whether the car comes to you or you come to us:
- The named renter's driving licence. That person is the only one allowed to drive CHECK: accepted licence types, minimum driver age and years of driving experience.
- Your IC, or your passport if you're visiting CHECK: ID required at handover.
- Payment for the rental.
- The deposit CHECK: deposit amount, how it is taken and how long the refund takes. What you can lose from it depends on your cover, and our guide to rental car protection and excess explains each level.
When someone else takes the keys
The renter doesn't have to be the one standing at the door. A PA can take the car for an executive, a groomsman can take the wedding car, a family member can receive the MPV before a trip. Add their details when you book, tell them the booking name and time, and make sure they'll answer their phone on the day. What they need to show is CHECK: what ID and documents the person collecting must show.
Taking the keys is not the same as driving, though. Only the named renter drives a self-drive car, and additional drivers can't be added.
Delivery or pickup: which makes sense
Delivery earns its RM 100 (or less) when the car is part of a plan: an MPV outside the house on the morning of a family trip, a saloon at the office for a visiting manager, a wedding car arriving at the bride's house. Our guide to wedding car rental in Kuala Lumpur covers the cars for that. A hotel in the Klang Valley is an address like any other, so if you're visiting Malaysia, give us the hotel and the guest's name; renting a car in Kuala Lumpur as a tourist has the rest.
Pickup is better if you want to sit in the car before you drive off, ask about the controls with the car in front of you, or compare it with another car in the same class. The showroom is at Lot 5A / No. 5, Jalan 13/2, Section 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya CHECK: is the Section 13 showroom the store where rental cars are collected, or are there other pickup stores?, about 10 to 15 km by road from KL city centre. It's open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 9 pm and Sunday 10 am to 8 pm. Pickups or returns outside those hours are CHECK: whether pickups and returns outside opening hours can be arranged. Directions are on the contact page, and car rental in Petaling Jaya says more about the showroom.
Delivery is offered on every car, from a compact sedan to a limousine or a supercar, and the booking is the same either way.
