Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari rental in Malaysia at Grandpride means one car, the Ferrari 458 Italia, at RM 7,200 a day with 120 km and Basic Cover included. If it's your first Ferrari, book one day, pay attention to the protection options, and keep the first half hour gentle.

Why this one

The 458 Italia was built from 2009 to 2015. Behind the seats is a 4.5-litre V8 with no turbochargers. Its replacement, the 488, went twin-turbo, so the 458 is one of the last mid-engined V8 Ferraris that breathes naturally. You feel that as instant response and hear it as a sound that keeps climbing right to the top of the rev range.

If you're weighing it against a McLaren, that's the difference: the Ferrari is the high-revving, naturally aspirated one, while a 570S or 720S is turbocharged, lighter-feeling, and has doors that open upwards. McLaren rental in Malaysia compares them, and the supercar rental guide puts everything side by side, Lamborghini, Porsche and Aston Martin included.

What the day costs

Ferrari 458 Italia
Day rateRM 7,200
Distance included120 km a day
Protection includedBasic Cover
Paid onlineRM 50 booking fee, which comes off the total
The restPaid in store or in person
DeliveryFree within 10 km of the showroom, RM 100 elsewhere in the Klang Valley
FuelNot included: bring it back at the level you collected it

Your total is the day rate for each day plus whatever options you tick. You see it itemised before you reserve, with no tax line tacked on at the end. The car's page shows its calendar with taken days greyed out, and how renting with us works walks through the booking steps.

The protection decision

On this car, read the excess before anything else: it's the most you pay towards damage. A low nose makes a scuffed front splitter or a kerbed wheel easy, and the repair bill on a Ferrari isn't small.

OptionIf something happens
Basic Cover (included)You pay up to the standard excess
Loss Damage WaiverYou pay up to a lower excess
Grandpride Protection+Zero excess for damage and theft, glass and tyres included

Each upgrade is priced for the car and shown as you book. Put it next to the standard excess and decide from there; on a first supercar day we'd look hard at Protection+. Avoiding rental car damage disputes explains how to protect yourself at handover and return.

Mileage for the route you have in mind

120 km is plenty for a day round the Klang Valley: coffee, a night drive through the city, dinner and back. It won't stretch to the coast and back, or up to the hills with a detour. For a longer loop add 50 km or 100 km for the day; for a proper road trip take unlimited, which works out cheaper per kilometre than paying the car's own rate for the extra afterwards.

If you're thinking about Genting, read driving up Genting Highlands first. It's a steep, winding climb, and a low mid-engined car wants a patient driver.

The rules

Only the named renter drives. There's no second driver, so whoever books is whoever drives; a friend can collect the car for you if their details are on the booking, but they can't take a turn. The car stays in Peninsular Malaysia, so no Singapore or Thailand. Delivery goes anywhere in the Klang Valley, or you collect it in Petaling Jaya. Deposit, age and licence rules for this car: CHECK: deposit amount for the Ferrari, minimum driver age and licence requirements.

Handover and the first hour

  1. Walk round the car with the Grandpride team. Look closely at the nose, the splitter, the wheels and the glass, and photograph anything you see. The rental car inspection checklist lists the rest.
  2. Note the fuel gauge and the odometer, since it goes back at the same fuel level.
  3. Ask to be shown the steering wheel. Ferrari moved the indicators and high beam onto buttons on the wheel, and you want to know that before the first junction, not at it.
  4. There's no manual. The 458 has a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox only, worked by the paddles or left to change by itself, which makes slow traffic easier than the car's looks suggest.
  5. Set the seat and mirrors before you start. Rear three-quarter visibility is limited, as in most mid-engined cars.
  6. Drive the first half hour gently, to learn how sharp the throttle and brakes are before you lean on them.
  7. Take ramps and speed bumps at an angle. The front sits low.

Driving a supercar for the first time covers more, from seating position to wet roads.

Before you book

Can you rent a Ferrari for just one day?

Yes. The 458 Italia is rented by the day, and you pick the pick-up and return times when you book. One day suits most occasions: a birthday, an anniversary, a drive with a friend, photographs. CHECK: is there a minimum rental length for the Ferrari, or can it be booked for part of a day? If it's a gift, the supercar driving experience guide compares a rental with an organised experience.

Berapa harga sewa Ferrari sehari?

Ferrari 458 Italia: RM 7,200 sehari, termasuk 120 km dan Basic Cover. Yuran tempahan RM 50 dibayar dalam talian dan ditolak daripada jumlah; bakinya dibayar di kedai atau secara bersemuka.
