With Grandpride's KLIA meet and greet, your chauffeur is waiting in the arrivals hall at KLIA Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, holding a nameboard if you ask for one, and drives you straight to your hotel, home or office. Add your flight number when you book and the flight is tracked, so a delay doesn't leave you without a car. Into central Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya it's a flat fare for a trip under 80 km, the same at 3 am as at noon.

Two things called "meet and greet"

At an airport the phrase covers two different services, so check which one you're buying.

Arrivals meet and greet: your driver waits in the public arrivals hall, after immigration, baggage reclaim and customs, and walks you to the car. That's what a chauffeur meet and greet is, and it's what Grandpride does at KLIA 1 and 2.

Airside assistance: someone meets you before immigration, at the gate, and helps you through the formalities. It's sold separately and isn't a car service.

A Grandpride store at KLIA is coming soon. Until it opens, arrivals is where you meet your chauffeur.

From booking to the car, in order

  1. At least two days before. Open Book a chauffeur, choose One Way, and enter the airport and your destination. Online bookings need two days' notice.
  2. Add your flight number. Grandpride watches the flight, and if it's late your chauffeur adjusts and is there when you land. The flight number also tells Grandpride which terminal you're using.
  3. Choose the name for the board. Type what you want on it; leave it blank and it shows your own name. For a business guest, a company name is often clearer.
  4. Take the confirmation call. A Grandpride representative confirms every trip by phone.
  5. Land, clear immigration, collect your bags. Switch your phone on as soon as you can, with roaming or Wi-Fi and WhatsApp working, so your chauffeur can reach you.
  6. Walk out into arrivals and look for your name CHECK: where exactly the chauffeur waits at Terminal 1 and at Terminal 2, e.g. at the arrivals gate or a named meeting point.

Immigration queues and baggage belts vary, and nobody can promise how long they'll take CHECK: how long the chauffeur waits after the flight lands at no extra charge, and the charge after that. If you're held up, message Grandpride on WhatsApp at +6010 322 3223 so your chauffeur knows where you are.

Terminal 1 or Terminal 2

KLIA has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 (still widely called klia2). They're separate buildings about 2 km apart, too far to walk, with no airside link between them. Roughly, Malaysia Airlines and most full-service airlines use Terminal 1, and AirAsia and other low-cost airlines use Terminal 2, but your ticket is what counts.

Grandpride meets passengers at both, at the same flat fare. Our guide to the KLIA2 airport transfer has more on Terminal 2, including how the two terminals connect.

Pick the car by the suitcases

At the airport, the luggage usually limits the choice of car more than the number of passengers does. Count your large suitcases first. Each chauffeur car has its own flat airport fare for a trip under 80 km, from RM 300 in a Toyota Vellfire.

Seat counts are each car's seats CHECK: does the seat count include the chauffeur. Whether the chauffeur carries your bags from the hall to the car is CHECK: does the chauffeur help with luggage from the arrivals hall to the car. Our guide to the KLIA transfer to Kuala Lumpur lists every car's flat fare side by side, and what happens if your address is more than 80 km out.

Child seats (give the children's ages), golf bags, prams or oversized boxes go in Additional requirements when you book. Those requests are priced per booking and confirmed with you before the trip.

Meeting someone else

You don't have to be the passenger. Choose "I'm booking for someone else" and add the passenger's full name and contact number, which go straight to the chauffeur. Check the number carefully: it can't be changed after you place the order.

That's how companies collect visiting executives and how families send a car for parents flying in from abroad. For regular visitors, our guide to corporate car rental and chauffeurs in Kuala Lumpur covers ongoing arrangements; for a high-profile arrival, see the VIP chauffeur service guide.

The same flat fare applies to a drop-off when you fly out, so you can book the return at the same time. If you're wondering whether to tip at the end, our guide to tipping drivers in Malaysia explains the local custom, and the chauffeur page has the rest of the service.
