VIP chauffeur service in Kuala Lumpur for executives and guests

Updated · By the Grandpride team, Petaling Jaya

Draft, not public. 7 questions for Grandpride to answer before this is published, highlighted below.

Grandpride's VIP chauffeur service in Kuala Lumpur is booked by the hour from RM 150, or as a flat fare to and from KLIA, and the booking page lets an assistant, host or events person book on the guest's behalf. Add the guest's flight number and the flight is tracked. If the visit needs more than a driver, a bodyguard from Grandpride's Driver & Bodyguard service is RM 440 for an 8-hour day.

Grandpride's chauffeurs work in professional attire, and the company describes them as trusted by executives, VIPs and high-net-worth clients with demanding schedules. Grandpride was awarded Best Malaysia Chauffeur Company in 2019 and 2021 CHECK: awarding body.

Before you book: three things that are hard to fix later

The guest's phone number. You'll enter it as the passenger's contact, and it can't be changed after you place the order. If they're flying in from abroad, give a number that will work in Malaysia when they land.

The name on the board. The arrival nameboard shows whatever name you type, and if you leave it blank it shows the booker's name, which is you. For a discreet arrival, use a company name or a reference, not the guest's own name.

Anything unusual. A preferred route, a second pickup, a child's age for a child seat: put it in Additional requirements. Special requests are priced per booking, added to your total and confirmed with you before the trip. If the guest needs confidentiality terms in writing, raise that before booking too CHECK: does Grandpride sign NDAs or confidentiality agreements for VIP bookings.

Making the booking

  1. On Book a chauffeur, choose By the Hour for a day of meetings or One Way for a single transfer.
  2. Enter the pickup, date and time. Online bookings need at least two days' notice.
  3. Choose the car. Every free car is shown, priced in full.
  4. Fill in your own details as the booker, tick "I'm booking for someone else", and add the guest's full name and contact number.
  5. Reserve. Online you pay a RM 50 booking fee, which comes off the total; the rest is paid in store or in person. A Grandpride representative then confirms with you by phone, and the chauffeur calls to confirm the schedule.

On the day, the guest deals with one person. The chauffeur calls them directly, waits at arrivals or the hotel door at the agreed time, and the car is theirs for the hours booked, with as many stops as the day needs.

Which car

For one or two senior guests, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW i7 are formal and quiet. For a delegation, or a guest who works in the back with colleagues, take the Lexus LM300h, an executive MPV with seven seats. Selected cars have onboard Wi-Fi CHECK: which chauffeur cars have onboard Wi-Fi. All six cars, with seats, luggage and fares, are in luxury chauffeur cars compared.

When flights run late and meetings overrun

With the flight number on the booking, Grandpride watches the flight and adjusts, so the chauffeur is at KLIA 1 or 2 arrivals when the guest actually lands. The KLIA flat fare is the same day or night, which matters for red-eye arrivals. Our KLIA transfer guide has the fare for each car and what happens in the arrivals hall.

A by-the-hour booking runs from 3 to 23 hours, and within that the car goes wherever the day goes. Over 12 hours, the total is 10% off. If the day runs past what you booked, CHECK: how to extend a booking on the day if meetings overrun, and at what rate.

Evening hours cost more: +30% for an hour that begins from 7 pm up to 11 pm, and +50% for one that begins from 11 pm up to 7 am. If you book the car through a client dinner, the quote already prices those hours in. Chauffeur prices per hour in Kuala Lumpur shows how a long day adds up.

Adding a bodyguard

Some visits need personal security as well as a driver. Grandpride's Driver & Bodyguard service supplies trained personnel who typically come from military and law-enforcement backgrounds.

ServicePer 8-hour dayOvertimeAfter midnight
BodyguardRM 440RM 50 per hourRM 60 per hour
Driver cum bodyguardRM 495RM 60 per hourRM 80 per hour

Either book the chauffeur car as usual and request a bodyguard for the same hours CHECK: can a bodyguard ride in a Grandpride chauffeur car, and is it arranged as one booking or two, or, if the guest has their own car, book a driver cum bodyguard who drives it door to door with unlimited stops, one person covering both jobs.

Match the hours. A bodyguard day is 8 hours and a chauffeur booking can run longer, so a 12-hour day means four hours of bodyguard overtime. If your organisation needs to see licensing documents before engaging security personnel, ask when you request a bodyguard CHECK: KDN licence number under the Private Agencies Act 1971, or the name of the licensed partner. Hiring a bodyguard in Malaysia lists what to ask.
